Gwen McCrae - 90% Of Me Is You (Cat, 1975)

Gwen painfully accepts her fate in this song but with an undefeated intensity, despite her unrequited love.  She kinda just lays it all out on the table.  She grew up in Florida and was eventually discovered by Betty Wright.  This record was recorded on Cat, a satellite label of T.K. Records based out of Miami, FL.  She had a #1 hit on the R&B charts with this record, the title track, “Rockin’ Chair”.  There were a few gems on this LP, maybe I’ll post a couple more.  -Ricky
