Little Ben & The Cheers - Never More (Penny, 1967)
(From the Numero Group’s Eccentric Soul: The Nickel & Penny Labels, the 13th installment of the Eccentric Soul series.)

I have a non-romantic personal romance with soul music.  I’m willing to bet the guys at Numero do as well.  They really seem to take a lot of care with their compilations, re-releasing some of the most interesting and enjoyable music put out by lesser-known indie soul labels of the 60s-70s.  This is a good tune.  The same song is also sung by Jerry Townes on this record. -Ricky
